Pale Horses: Day One.

Today was the first day on the new film, and honestly, it just felt too damn good to be back shooting a film. I had truly, truly missed this.

I can't pretend - shooting a feature screenplay that was only written a month ago over a period of three days is quite something. But last night, over dinner and Skype, we read through the screenplay and genuinely, it was simply a sense of 'of course'. Of course this is how things should be done. When the moment is right. And sometimes, that moment is right now.

Last night went on till 4am. Today started just after lunch, and seriously, it was something crazy indeed. I can't describe how amazing it is to have a whole team of people around me, throwing so much skills into the mix to help make the best movie we can. I learned a lot over 2012 - both about trying to get Nina Nobody made and then hopping in with the team on Communion. Somewhere out of all of that, I realised that I had to do what I had to do. I knew I wanted to be back here in New York. I didn't realise that I'd be shooting a film. But now, it makes absolute sense. And by drawing the most incredible team together, I feel like we're going to making something very, very special indeed.

The Pale Horses screenplay was started on December 17th. Today is January 17th. Sometimes, the moment really is right now.
